Saint Camillus International University of Health and Medical Sciences ( UniCamillus ) – International Medical University of Rome is an Italian private university. The Athenaeum is exclusively dedicated to Health and Medical Sciences and was inaugurated in 2017.
UniCamillus shows a particular interest in the pathologies of less fortunate countries. That is why it mainly targets non-EU and EU youth interested in a humanitarian, scientific and professional career.
Unicamillus, active since 2017, is actively interested in health and disease problems and in the promotion of health with a humanistic culture in its medical interest implications.
Places for medicine in English 2023/24 and 2024/25 are 267 per academic year. Places for dentistry 2023/24 and 2024/25 are 75 per academic year. These seats are reserved for EU candidates.
Medicine seats for non-EU candidates living abroad are 225 for 2023/24, and 35 for dentistry.
The admission test is usually held in May; each candidate can repeat it twice. The application is 180€.

The main sites are in Via Sant’Alessandro in the Tiburtina area at the ring road level. They are easily accessible by car, and the university provides dedicated parking for students. Alternatively, the university can be reached by several buses that leave from the “Ponte Mammolo” stop (metro line B).
The university is organised in several buildings. The main campus and others under construction are all adjacent.
There is also a university campus in which students can rent a room.
Alternatively, any area near metro line B is well connected to the University. In particular, Piazza Bologna is well-connected and the city’s university area.
The f irst three years are pre-clinical, while years 4 to 6 are the clinical years with internships.
As Unicamillus was established as an international university with a humanitarian mission, it welcomes many international students and is very focused on the study of diseases in developing countries.
There are no bar exams, but foreigners must take an Italian exam.
Classes in the first semester start in October and end in January. In February, there is a regular exam session. There is also an extraordinary session in April.
The second semester starts in March. Classes end by the end of May. In June and July there is the summer session. The fall session is in September. Finally, there is another extraordinary session in December.
Internships are held in hospitals throughout Rome, such as Pertini, San Giovanni, and San Camillo. In addition, internships are also held in private facilities such as Policlinico Luigi di Liegro or Aurelia Hospital.
Students do two weeks in each department and then rotate, changing hospitals and departments.
All exams have a preparatory written part to enter the oral.
First-year exams are biology and genetics, chemistry, physics and statistics, histology and embryology, anatomy I, economics and social and international policy.
In class, professors are very fiscal with attendance; an electronic badge is used to enter the classroom. To take the exams is necessary to have at least 75% of attendance in class.
The main building hosts a cafeteria where students can eat.
There will be a very large canteen in the new building available from September 2023.
In addition, there is a convention centre next to the university that offers diner with favourable prices for students.
Several libraries and study rooms are located in the three locations, and a 50% increment is expected for the next academic year in the new buildings.

The secretariat is very efficient, responding to emails in a tempestive manner.

For the enrolment , students must upload on the website the ID document followed by the high school diploma certification. In addition, also the receipt showing payment of matriculation fees + regional revenue stamp must be uploaded.
It is possible to transfer to Unicamillus by validating exams taken if you come from another medical school course in English. The transfer is not available for those coming from other degree programs.

Different scholarships are made available depending on agreements with various banks in Italy. Some are awarded by average requirements and the number of exams taken, while others are awarded based on income, such as the regional scholarship provided by the Lazio region.
There is a campus in the university area where students can stay. It is modern and equipped with study rooms, gyms and common areas.
